The Organs of St. Peter's
At the first fall meeting of 1915, the Vestry authorized the purchase of a new organ from Reuben Midmer and Sons of Brooklyn, New York, and arranged for changes and repairs to the church. The new organ was completed by early February 1916, and the current façade in All Saints' Chapel dates from that period. A new pipe organ, built by the Wicks Company as opus 2101, was installed in its place in 1940. The current nave pipe organ, Wicks opus 3652, was installed in 1956 under the leadership of then-music director Edward Hillmuth. The Schantz company installed a new, three-manual console, opus 1995, in 1991 under the leadership of then-music director Marc McGinnis.
