Liturgical Ministries

Best translated as "the work of the people," vital liturgy is collaborative worship
involving the congregation and its ministers. Presided by an ordained priest, our weekly Eucharist
is enriched by many laypersons who serve in a variety of ways to provide a worship experience
that is both solemn and welcoming.

Acolytes

Adults and youth (Grade 6 + up) light the altar candles, hold the Gospel Book in the Gospel procession, receive the offerings and elements, and assist the clergy in setting the Altar for Communion. Contact the Parish Office for more information.

Crucifers

Adults and youth (Grade 6 + up) carry the cross at the head of the procession, at the gospel reading, and at the closing postlude. Contact the Parish Office for more information.

Ushers

A ministry of open hospitality, older children and adult ushers distribute the service leaflets, assist in seating, gathering the offering, leading the congregation to the altar for communion, recording attendance, and counting the offering. Contact Wayne Copeland for more information.

Lectors

Adults and children read the Hebrew Scripture, Epistle Lesson, and the Prayers of the People. Contact Kathleen McLaughlin for more information.

Eucharistic Ministers/Chalicists

Adults administer the chalice at the distribution of Holy Communion. Contact the Parish Office for more information.

Altar Guild

Members care for the sacred vessels used in worship. Their responsibilities include provision for the bread and wine, handling candles and flowers, tending to fair linens and Hangings, and all other things necessary for the celebration of the Eucharist and other services. Contact Alice Samuels, Karen Mosher, or Candace Carr for more information.

Choirs

We always welcome singers, handbell ringers, and instrumentalists to play during Eucharist and other special services. Contact Mark Trautman for more information.

Videographers

Adults and older youth operate video and audio equipment for services and special events, which are streamed on Facebook and YouTube. Contact the Parish Office for more information.
