Named in honor of a previous Rector, this group of parishioners distributes funds to organizations that seek to assist those in need.
Prospective grantees may download the application here. Please follow the specific guidelines for each question and submit when complete. The committee will not grant any funds to organizations that do not provide us with an application that meets the guidelines.
The 2025 deadline for applications has now passed. The committee will meet during January to review the submissions. Applicants may be contacted by a committee member in order for us to learn more about your organization. We expect to complete the review process in January and distribute the grants in February 2026.
Funds are distributed with the following in mind: "The David St. George Outreach Endowment Committee is an outreach committee of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Essex Fells, NJ. Its purpose is to distribute funds to organizations or groups within the communities of St. Peter's and the Episcopal Diocese of Newark, who seek to assist struggling individuals with food, shelter, education, and/or support in hopes that they may one day be able to support and care for themselves. The distributed funds will be given in response to grant requests, submitted by these organizations, after prayerful consideration, discussion, and investigation by the committee members. The aim of the committee is to not only assist individuals in need, but to focus on smaller organizations or project for whom our limited resources would have the most impact."
