Rector

Picture
Father Nate has been the Rector of St. Peter's since 2020. He came here from Pike Road, Alabama, where he was Rector of Grace Episcopal Church. He and his wife, Rheagan, an environmental lawyer, have two sons, Lawrence (Wren) and Julien (Jule), and two dogs, Ziggy and Margot.

Born and raised in Upstate New York, Father Nate is the son of two Assemblies of God ministers. He found his way into the Episcopal Church as a freshman in college, and was confirmed a few years later. In 2006, he moved to New York City to work in hospital administration. It was while he was living in Brooklyn that he met his wife. Shortly before the birth of their first child, Rheagan and Nate moved to the south, eventually settling in Birmingham, Alabama. There, they became active in an Episcopal parish, which eventually led Nate to enter the process of discernment in the Diocese of Alabama. He was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Kee Sloan in 2018.

Father Nate earned a Bachelor's Degree in the Classics from Asbury College, a Master of Divinity from Princeton Seminary, a Master of Sacred Theology from Union Seminary at Columbia University, and a Diploma in Anglican Studies from the University of the South School of Theology. He is a student of history fascinated by U.S. politics, a die-hard Mets fan, an amateur coffee roaster, and a recreational long distance runner. He and his family love to travel.
